And the winner is ...

Me! (along with bunches of others!)

Marilou at the Confessions of a Reader blog gave me highly esteemed Versatile Blogger award!

From what I can gather, this award pretty much amounts to something like winning an Oscar, except I don't have to stand up on a stage in front of millions of viewers who will later comment on my attire (thumbs up or thumbs down) in order to receive it. #ThankGOODness!

This is what my highly intelligent sponsor has to say about it:  This lofty-sounding award is basically a mutual admiration society where bloggers recognize their peers for writing quality blogs that touched them in some way. The VBAs honor the blogger rather than specific posts. It’s a chance for bloggers to pat themselves on the back like the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences does with the Oscars. Until someone starts giving out Blogscars, the VBAs will have to suffice.

What are the criteria, or rather the inclusion in the touch-points of "speech" you'll want to make upon receiving such an award? Here they are:

If you are nominated, then you’ve been awarded the Versatile Blogger Award! It's simple! Take a few moments to FEEL the warmth of the bestowed "congratulations!" Then think of 7 things to tell/share/reveal about yourself.

Next, thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy. (Thank you Marilou!)

Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — after all, let other peeps know about a great stopping place on the web! See: Confessions of a Reader #HIGHLYrecommended!

Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. (I would add, pick blogs or bloggers that are excellent!)

OKAY! The envelope, please…

Along with a drumroll (SILENCE is not always golden in moments like this).

My 15 nominees/winners are (in no particular order):
2. Rainy of the Dark
5. Kid Lit Reviews
6. The Masquerade Crew
8. Life of Lois
9. Have you heard my book review
10. Big Al's Books and Pals
11. Kate's Tales of Books and Bands
12. Read 2 Review
13. Reading Diva
15. Chef John Malik

And now, if you've made it this far, this is what you've been waiting for... THE SPEECH!

Seven Things About ME:

Here we go.....

1. I battle shyness every day. Usually I win, but often look silly in the process.

2. I tried to fish with peanut butter last night ~ didn't work.

3. I love being outside.

4. Working at a computer drives me nuts ~ but I'm a writer.... #justmyluck

5. I wish I had time to go swimming, but I haven't yet this summer

6. I'm addicted to chocolate.

7. I'm conflicted by my addictions. Aren't they supposed to be bad?

Thanks for the visit! And thank you, Marilou!
